Dr. Johnny Miller, inspirational and keynote speaker has played and observed the game of golf on five continents for over forty years.

As a Communications Professor for major universities, Dr. Johnny Miller, keynote speaker, and inspirational speaker, has inspired many golfers to move up to the PGA ranks. Specifically, Dr. Johnny Miller watched KSU golfers David Moreland, Jon Miles and Ben Curtis move up to the PGA Tour.

Dr. Johnny Miller is most proud of Ben Curtis who in July of 2003, returned home as the British Open Champion.

After walking a round at the Firestone Country Club with the late Bob Hope, Dr. Johnny Miller heard him say "If you watch it, it's fun. If you play it, it's recreation. If you work at it, it's golf."

Dr. Johnny Miller said: "That in order to be successful in golf, people need to be consistent, maintain their focus and enthusiasm for the game from the beginning of the round to the end."

Dr. Johnny Miller also said: "Golf is a great barometer of how people will behave in the workplace. A person who is pleasant and honest on the golf course will usually be the same way in their business."

Playing golf is not only physically good for you, it releases powerful, natural, mood enhancing drugs called endorphins into your bloodstream. As long as you don't strive to play with PGA Pro-like perfection, just having a stroll in the open air and enjoying a round of golf with your friends will make you feel better.

Golf offers a mental challenge. You're always thinking when playing golf, whether it's counting shots, working out your score, or just calculating yardages and club selection. All that mental exercise is good for you.

Golf is a social game, a chance to get to know someone better, that's one important reason why so many business people play golf. A round of golf can take about four hours allowing individual differences to disappear as playing the game becomes the common focus. Most golfers play with family or friends but most are happy to join up with a single golfer to make a group of three or four.

Golf is the great equalizer - it's handicapping system is designed in such a way that enables the new golfer to play competitively against the highly skilled. There are not many sports where you can compete fairly against the super star!

The etiquette and rules of golf encourage care and respect of others and the course. It teaches young people good values and there are many life lessons in the game of golf that very unique to the game.
